A Little Digging
Cities are fascinating places. Even more so when one understands the history behind the present day story. What role a major street played in the business history of a city. Or how prominent was a particular corner four generations ago? Simcoe Place occupies one of those corners. Actually, it sits on one of the most storied corners in all of Canada. Today, the corner of Front and Simcoe Streets is at the centre of a new, expanding Toronto; 150 years ago, it was the place where people met, debated and set in motion what was to become Canada.
