LEED Gold EB (Operations and Maintenance) Certification: In 2010, Simcoe Place achieved certification under the rigorous standards as set out by the U.S. Green Building Council. This 3rd party organization was created to further green standards in real estate development, construction and operations management. Simcoe Place's certification was the result of a year long process of assessment and a decade long committment to adopting innovation green standards.
BOMA Best Green Certification 2008: The highest certification level that BOMA awards, BOMA Best is a comprehensive guideline and measurement program designed to assist and then test prperty managers on the quality of sustainable policies and practices in place. The cooperative partnership between Simcoe Place tenants and management created a sustainable green culture that resulted in BOMA's recognition.
Waste Diversion Success: Waste management is a critically important task for all property managers. It determines how much waste is shipped to landfill each month or diverted to reusable recycling processes. Simcoe Place, through the daily efforts of its tenants, has steadily improved its diversion rate, with the result being that in 2010, we achieved a very respectable 75%. With steady improvements each month, our goal of zero waste is in sight.
